Marty Jaffe


Marty is a Partner based out of Oakland, California, for AssayCS. He has spent his career working with closely held, family-owned and founder-led organizations.


Marty began his career in the consulting world with Arther Andersen, where he developed his skills of working with both public and private companies going through significant transitions.


Marty moved from the consulting world to take on executive positions, leading the Chronicle Publishing Company through its management transition, decision to liquidate and the ultimate $2 billion sale. He then led the business operations at Dolby Laboratories, which has offices in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, London, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Sydney, Nuremberg and Stockholm. Additionally, he steered the founder and executive team through an IPO and transition to a public company.


Marty subsequently held CFO roles where he helped organizations scale their operations across the US, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Assay Advisory, He applied his skills and experience as a consulting CFO for a number of early stage technology companies.


Marty is a lawyer and certified public accountant and holds a BA degree in political and social behavior from Occidental College, a JD degree from University of California Hastings College of Law, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
