Kelly Loyd Pieczonka
Kelly is a Director at AssayCS and is based in San Francisco.
Kelly has spent two decades working in Finance, Merchandising, and Consulting with a recent focus on M&A. She began her career leading businesses at Gap Inc. In her various corporate roles she managed the design, worldwide sourcing, financial planning, distribution, marketing and pricing strategies. This hands on experience with each phase of the retail cycle gave her an opportunity to learn and hone her negotiation, management, and operational skills. When Kelly began managing large divisions she moved around the country to work for J. Crew, Eddie Bauer Holdings, and Restoration Hardware. Ultimately, as a Senior Director she managed Merchandising and Inventory for a $145M division.
For several years Kelly stepped away from Corporate Retail to work with her father in the small family business her grandfather started fifty years earlier. She began by working with the team to re-establish the mission and vision for the future. She updated the accounting systems, implemented budgeting processes, created financial plans, improved efficiency and profitability while updating the HR policies and introducing a new performance review process. Kelly’s most important project was rebranding the family business to position it beyond its local market. Within this project she spearheaded the relocation of the facility to a premier location where she managed the design and renovation of the new facility.
The time within her family’s business ignited Kelly’s passion for small business so she transitioned into the role of Management Consultant. Kelly enjoys building strong relationships with business owners and gaining a deep understanding of their business and industry. Living through the stages of her family business’s development Kelly understands the deep importance of Legacy. She works with clients to create and implement plans for growth or exit while defining and protecting a Legacy for which they can always be proud.
